The final event of the 2026 LIV Golf season is upon us as the Tour heads to The Club at Chatham Hills for its individual championship.
The Club at Chatham Hills was the final design of storied golf architect Pete Dye, who resided ten minutes from the venue.
When the dust settles come Sunday, this also could very well be the final event of LIV Golf Tour in its entirety, or at least the LIV Golf Tour we know.
The Field
Jon Rahm has already secured his third LIV Golf Tour individual title with this final event yet to be played.
He currently sits at 944.54 points while second place Bryson DeChambeau sits at 726.2 points.
Unlike the individual title, the team title race is extremely tight.
4Aces GC (Dustin Johnson, Thomas Pieters, Thomas Detry and Anthony Kim) currently holds a 2.25 point lead over second place Ripper GC (Cameron Smith, Marc Leishman, Lucas Herbert and Elvis Smylie.) Third place Legion XIII (Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt and Tom McKibbin) sits just 4.5 points off the lead.
Again, we are unsure what the future of LIV Golf is to hold, but as it sits, we need to keep an eye on the ‘Drop Zone.’
Currently, the first five names within the safe ‘Open Zone’ are Louis Oosthuizen, Yosuke Asaji, Adrian Meronk, Graeme McDowell and Cameron Tringale.
The current first five names on the outside looking in are Jason Kokrak, Luis Masaveu, Danny Lee, Ben Campbell and Bjorn Hellgren.
Sebastian Munoz comes in as the defending champion, having topped Rahm in a playoff a season ago here at The Club at Chatham Hills.
The Course
As previously mentioned, The Club at Chatham Hills was the final masterpiece in the storied career of legendary golf architect Pete Dye.
Dye was a lifelong resident of Indiana and he lived just ten minutes from the course. That made this project one of the most personal of his career, especially being the last time he got ‘time in the dirt.’
It plays as a par-72 at roughly 7,334 yards and was opened in 2016.
It was constructed on a near 800-acre plot of land north of Indianapolis that was previously owned by the same family for eight generations.
Off-the-tee, visually, golfers will look onto what will appear to be narrow fairways from elevated tee boxes. However, the fairways are actually rather generous and wide.
The strategically placed bunkers are uniform across the course. They consist of thin strips of sand that resemble what most would describe as graves.
Those who find these bunkers off-the-tee will find recording a birdie next to impossible.
Various lakes, streams and ponds also come into play around this golf course, which will require a touch of accuracy off-the-tee to avoid big numbers. Distance will also be needed to attack this 7,300-plus yard golf course. So those who can find the balance of the two will see an advantage.
From there, the greens are described as ‘lighting fast’ and will be both tough to hold and to putt on. The greens are also Bentgrass.
The par-threes this week range from 155-yards (second) to 226 yards (eighth.)
The par-five seventh features a downhill tee-shot that leads into an approach shot over a pond.
The par-four tenth, 12th and 15th holes have water in play off-the-tee.
The 18th is a tough final hole, playing uphill and often-times, into the wind.
The Weather
As of the time of writing this, Thursday has the highest chance of precipitation this week at 25-percent. Friday is calling for a 15-percent chance of precipitation, Saturday a 20-percent chance and Sunday a ten-percent chance. Temperatures will be the lowest on Thursday with a high of 74-degrees. From there, temperatures will increase to 75-degrees on Friday and 76-degrees on Saturday before finishing the week at 78-degrees on Sunday. Winds look like they will be held in check this week, topping out at just ten miles-per-hour across all four days with Sunday afternoon looking to have the lowest winds.

Betting Card
Thomas Detry (+2700)
I guess I'm going to continue to waste more money on Detry this season. At least this is the final week and I won’t have to do it again. Detry is currently seventh on Tour in both total driving and birdie-or-better percentage, tenth in scrambling, 11th in GIR% and 22nd in putting average. Detry placed 17th in New York, 31st in the U.K., fifth in Andalucia, 33rd in Korea and sixth in Virginia across his last five events. LIV Golf Virginia was played at another Trump National venue as well. Detry also placed T40th at The Open Championship.
Harold Varner III (+3300)
Varner III comes into this week as one of the hottest golfers on Tour. He was the runner-up in New York, placed seventh in the U.K., 19th in Andalucia and ninth in Korea. Varner III is currently fourth on Tour in scrambling, 15th in birdie-or-better percentage, 18th in GIR%, 23rd in total driving and 25th in putting average. He did play this event a season ago but had a poor performance, placing T51st.
Josele Ballester (+5600)
It was reported that Ballester had signed up for the DP World Tour’s Q-School with the uncertainty of LIV Golf’s future. This is a guy who is going to have to play quality golf to secure his professional golf future if LIV Golf is to go away. He is currently fourth on Tour in total driving, tenth in GIR%, 14th in birdie-or-better percentage, 38th in scrambling and 47th in putting average. Ballester is not in the best of form coming into this week however. He placed 32nd in New York, 20th in the U.K., 55th in Andalucia, 51st in Korea and fifth in Virginia. Prior to that fifth in Virginia, again, at another Trump National venue, he placed third in Mexico City, 12th in South Africa and sixth in Singapore.
